Hello! I’m Rebecca. I am a DONA certified Doula serving Anchorage and the surrounding area. I was born in Alaska and have lived here most of my life. I live here with my husband and two children. I have always been passionate about caring for others, even as a child. After having a doula for my second birth, I wanted to do for others what my doula had done for me. Seeking out my certification was the logical next step, and this has become my life’s passion.

It is always such a privilege to be able to witness a birth story - to be invited into such an intimate experience. Labor and birth is sacred, beautiful, and a natural part of life. I believe in supporting you and your birth partner as you bring your baby into this world.

Why Mama Bear? Many people are familiar with the phrase “mama bear” and how it relates to our protection of our own children. There is a philosophy in birth work that it is important to “mother the mother”. In fact, this is often viewed as a role of the doula. This is a powerful imagery when I imagine caring for my clients the way I would care for my own children. I don’t see this as a roaring bear, towering over a threat, but rather as a guide, leading with gentle strength. Is this something you want for your birth? I’m excited to meet you!
